Summer tips for dry hair.


Summer can be one of the most damaging seasons for hair. Long exposure to the sun and heat can quickly dry hair out in some cases will cause damage and hair loss. Here are our three tips for helping combat the elements:

  1. Stay in the shade and avoid long exposure to the heat and sun. Tanning and being at the beach are summer pastimes, but tanning and heat will dry your hair and scalp out. If you’re going to be out in the sun for a long time, consider wearing a hat to avoid a sun burn on your scalp. Staying in the shade and keeping cool will help keep your hair healthy.
  2. Drink lots of water. By consuming the recommended amount of water, you will be keeping your scalp and the rest of your skin healthy. Keeping your body hydrated will allow it to regulate your internal temperature as well as keep your scalp from drying and causing any damage.
  3. Consider using a small amount of a naturally based leave in conditioner. A conditioner made from natural oils and products can help prevent damage while nourishing your hair.
